Raise the Roof Campaign
After 30 years of serving the community, St. Timothy’s roof needs replacing. This is a major expense of approximately $25,000, so we are launching a capital campaign to “Raise the Roof.” The logo we are using seems very appropriate as the church is not the building, but the people. With that, our building is essential to continue to worship and to host our community in our northern climate.
Over the last 60 years, our building and our church family have been and continue to be an integral part of the Prospect Road community as we uphold our vision of “Inspired by God to know, sow, and grow.” We love our role within the wider community, which includes housing the Prospect Road Food Share, community quilters, support groups, small group studies, scouting, and guiding, to name a few. Our doors are open to all and we pray we have been a safe shelter for you and your loved ones.
Currently we are the lead on the Route 333 Refugee Sponsorship Association, working to bring a family from the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Each Christmas we fill shoeboxes for Mission to Seafarers and decorate a gift tree for local social programs, with our 2021 focus on Hospice Halifax. Globally we assist 3 foster children.
This year we will be holding Raise the Roof fundraisers and are appealing to you to contribute, as you are able, to this important campaign so we can continue to do our part in our community. If you would like to support this project, you can (tax receipts will be given):
• E-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org (Please enter Raise the Roof under Comments)
• Mail a cheque to St. Timothy’s Church (2320 Prospect Road, Hatchet Lake, B3T 1S9)
• Call Linda at 902-483-6403 to have someone to pick up and deliver your contribution
• Via envelopes at church marked with “Raise the Roof” labels
We give thanks to God for blessing us with this wonderful community and look forward to many more years of community involvement. Thank you for reading this appeal and your consideration in supporting this important initiative.
